The future of technology in education is the theory of theoretical education vs
practical education. This is an age old debate and many people are completely on one side or the other of this debate. Some see the advanced science and technological advances as good for all of us, while others view these advances as hindering progress.
There was a time when most high school students had no idea what a video camera was or how to use it, but now, almost every kid has seen a YouTube video and knows about technology. All they need to know is how to use that technology and perform basic functions. Technology, whether it is text messaging or the Internet, is important for anyone and everyone in today’s society.
Today, you can have new digital cameras to take pictures that you can add to your Facebook account. You can text message your friends for free, and you can access all kinds of information about what is going on with your favorite celebrities. There are numerous conveniences that are the products of the advances in technology.
But, our schools are still not teaching these types of things in the real world. What we need are new teaching methods that are based on real world situations. It should be no different from how the real world works and just like computers, there are many computer programs that do the same basic things that they were programmed to do. There are millions of people who get the same type of instruction each day.
Why does it make sense for our high schools to skip the theory in favor of the practical in the real world? Because, we are always exposed to what is happening right in front of us, and we should be using this knowledge in life. But, when our high schools skip theory, they might as well be a city kindergarten.
Now that we have the technologies, why can’t we continue with the concepts of education that have been in existence for thousands of years and that is found throughout the Bible? Our leaders in high schools, unfortunately, are not following the Bible when it comes to how we should teach the curriculum. They want to continue to teach the theories that are convenient for them and the teachers at their schools.
Why do we need to teach all high school students about spirituality and character? What good is a good GPA, if we teach students to be dishonest? How will all the students know how to love and be loved if our principals do not teach them that it is OK custom writing service to show respect?
It is so sad that they will try to put a reality check on our students and that they would make it difficult for them to learn without having the right way of learning. But, it is sadder that our kids are passing off the theoretical education they received as the practical education they need. Just like all the people who have been around us our entire lives, we should remember what the reality is and what we are living in.
There is no way to compare the two, because one cannot be put into the other. One is more real than the other. We should get back to the reality that we were given and learn the concepts that will help us prosper in the real world.
Because of technological advancements, we have a world where everything is possible, but is it right for us to expect that our children will grow up knowing everything that is right? We should start to raise our children the way God raised us, and let them live with all the technology and access that we all have today.
Instead of being distracted by the opportunities that technology offers, which are important, we should be focusing on career and educational opportunities that will help our children grow and have a chance to make something of themselves in the real world. where technology is not everything. and because of that, it is important that we give our children the tools that will give them the skills and knowledge that will help them succeed in the world that we are living in today.
